Jimmie Johnson is a slight favorite in NASCAR odds but Jimmie has been in a slump recently so he is no guarantee to win.
NASCAR betting at SBG Global lists Johnson at 5.5 to 1 to win on Saturday night. Kurt and Kyle Busch are close second choices at 6.5 to 1. Also in the mix are Tony Stewart and Kevin Harvick at 8-1.
Watch on ABC: This race should get some good action because it will be televised at night on ABC. Kyle Busch won the race last year with Mark Martin finishing second. Kyle’s win snapped a four-race wining streak for Ford as Carl Edwards and Matt Kenseth had combined to win the four previous races. A Ford has won five of the last seven years in this race. Last year it was a two-man race with Martin leading for 240 laps while Kyle Busch led the last 68 laps.
The race for the Chase is heating up with the main focus on the 12th spot. Clint Bowyer is 35 points ahead of Mark Martin. This is the week for Martin as he has had a lot success in this race. It is probably the last chance for those behind Martin to get into contention. Ryan Newman and Jamie McMurray must have a big week if they are to put pressure on Bowyer and Martin.
Up Front at Bristol: Jeff Gordon and Kurt Busch have the most victories at Bristol among active drivers with five. There have been 99 races at Bristol and 22 have been won from the pole. Starting in the top five is important as 58 of the 99 races have been won by a driver who started in the top five.
Winner: It is never easy to pick just one driver and hope he wins the race. It is kind of like picking a golfer although in NASCAR betting it is a little easier since the number of drivers who can realistically win is smaller. With Fords being so dominant you have to pick at least one of those cars. Jeff Burton is way overdue and he is 12-1. Mark Martin really needs to do well and his NASCAR odds are very attractive at 28-1.
