Indy Car betting at the Twin Ring Motegi Speedway dates back to 1998 when CART actually held a race that was won by Adrian Fernandez. CART continued at the track until 2003. In 2003 the track was added to the Indy Racing League schedule. In 2004, Dan Wheldon was the Indy Car betting winner in this race, giving Honda their first victory at the track. In 2008, Danica Patrick won on this track in Indy Car betting. It is really the only time she has been in the running for a victory in her career as Indy Car bet statistics indicate.
This race at Motegi is the next to last race of the Indy Car betting season. Last year the race got publicity because Danica Patrick was the Indy Car betting winner. It took her 50 races to finally get into the sports betting winner’s circle but she was able to do it. The only way that Patrick has been any type of factor in Indy Car betting is with fuel strategy and her pits made the right calls and that is the reason she won. She is not a good enough driver to win races on talent but in Indy Car betting anything can happen when it comes to fuel strategy and in last year’s race it worked out in her favor. Fuel strategy was also the only reason she was competitive a few years back in Indy Car betting in the Indy 500.
Patrick is not a part of this year’s Indy Car point race, as she is well in back of the top four but she might get a look in this race because she won it last year. Ryan Briscoe, Scott Dixon, Dario Franchitti and Helio Castroneves get the bulk of the action in Indy Car betting and for good reason. One of them usually wins for gamblers who make an Indy Car bet. Last year it was Castroneves finishing second and Dixon finishing third in Indy Car betting. Dan Wheldon was fourth and Tony Kanaan was fifth.
