Indy Betting Starts Next Weekend

Indy betting is on the board next weekend as the Sao Paulo Indy 300 begins the 2010 season.

The race on Sunday, March 14th will be the first one for the IndyCar series in Brazil and should be an exciting one as you bet on Indy.  The CART series ran in Rio de Janeiro from 1996-2000 but this will be the first IndyCar series race in Brazil.

Indy betting has the potential to be interesting as the course in Brazil has a mile long straight away which is the longest ever in the series. "The race in Sao Paulo will be a great show, the track is awesome," Brazilian driver Tony Kanaan said. "I can’t wait to see the stands filled with fans and to feel their enthusiasm."

Watching the race in Brazil is going to be fascinating since the course will go through the Anhembi Sambadrome.  That is where the city has parades every year. The Sambadrome goes for about a third of mile and should provide great viewing for fans.  That is where the race will start and finish. Another great part of the course is the back straight that is just about a mile long. Drivers may get close to 200 mph on that straightaway.  "It’s a special circuit," track designer Tony Cotman said, "It will provide a great opportunity for Indy and its drivers to put on a good show."

Those that bet on Indy will probably be looking at local favorite Helio Castroneves.  He is a contender every week in Indy betting and will definitely be a popular choice in Sao Paulo.  Kanaan is really not as much of a threat to win but he will get some attention from those that bet on Indy.  Other Brazilian drivers that probably won’t get much Indy betting attention are Vitor Meira, Mario Romancini, Raphael Matos and Bia Figueiredo.  It is also possible that Mario Moraes may be in the Indy betting race.

Sao Paulo is going to be a popular city for racing as they will also host the final race of the Formula One season in November. Brazil really is important to IndyCar as one of their biggest sponsors APEX-Brasil provides the fuel for the cars.

Indy betting last season was all about four drivers.  You either took Dario Franchitti, Scott Dixon, Ryan Briscoe or Castroneves when you bet on Indy. Any other driver was simply a huge risk in Indy betting.
